Jim Hopkins

It’s easy to overlook, but you have to clock in your time drawing - like practicing scales on a musical instrument. I remember a social studies teacher in Junior High giving me hell -calling on me in class : “Can I ask HOPKINS to answer this question, or is he too busy drawing EYES?” I don’t remember if I had the answer to that question -but yes, I spent an obsessive amount of time drawing eyes, ears, and thumbs in the leaves of my notebook. And the muscle striations between the deltoid and pectoral muscles. No, I did not sign that notebook - “The Half Blood Artist”. Anyway, I earned a BFA in Illustration/Media Arts at SVA, and I’ve been doing storyboards, animatics and comps - advertising production work for 15+ years. I’m stylistically versatile -dramatic or humorous, as the project demands… I’m fluent in many mediums: ink, acrylic, marker, pastel, watercolor- accomplished in oil… BUT - you need your project digitally done -ASAP- right? I’m on it. I’m exceptionally facile at digitally rendering. I love Photoshop. So, let’s go- what do you have? Send me the scripts -send me the reference -let’s talk -I got my pen and paper -I’m ready to take notes…
